Today I saw my friend dip her quaver into a cup of tea. No, this is not a drill, a cup of tea.. And she looked at me like I was the freak when I asked her why she was abusing that innocent crisp. And it got me thinking, we’ve all got our guilty pleasures. They’re the things we do when we think no one is watching, the things we get excited about when we’re home alone. Whether it’s ordering enough takeaway to feed a small family, having a weird celebrity crush cough ~ how cute is Tom Jones ~ cough or stealing soaps and toiletries from hotel rooms.
If you don’t know by now, I’m a sucker for box subscriptions. When it was time to move from home my mum tried to advise me to cancel them but I couldn’t do it to myself. It really is lovely receiving a surprise gift to myself every month from me! This time last year I wrote about my skin care hacks and also about a beauty box subscription I signed up for. I later cancelled it after you all told me about better options. So thanks!
It’s been a tough week for me. I crashed my car and the insurance company have been fucking morons to say the least. I’ve felt frustrated about being in pain, taking time off work and having no transport meaning I have been away from my own home comforts. I’ve realised how independent I am and I’ve felt trapped. I’m usually a very positive person however this week I’ve been quiet due to knowing I had to take some time out to look after myself.
Let’s face it. Living at home does come with its perks. Depending on the arrangement you have with your parents, you could live rent free, enjoy home cooked meals and have the washing done for you. But the one thing that you don’t have is your independence. I wanted to move out to have my own space, take control of my life, learn to cook fancy food, have my own rules and grow as a person. But its not easy at first!
WOOOHOOOO ITS DECEMBER! I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by. I have been neglecting my blog for so long so I’m sorry for that. But IM BACK and I have so much content to make your eyes bleed so don’t worry.
I’m not one of these that starts their Christmas shopping in July, in fact it sickens me to even think about it. But once the 1st December comes around I go wild with all things Christmas; films, decorations, chocolate (more than usual if you can believe that) and not forgetting the random outbursts of Christmas songs to annoy my family and friends. So this weekend I felt festive and decided to pick my mini me up and take her to Bell’s Gardening Outlet. If you’ve read my posts before, you’ll remember my Pumpkin Picking blog which was so fun. This year, Bell’s are hosting an Elves Workshop, including cute walks down Candy Cane Lane and even getting to chose your very own christmas tree to take home. Continue reading
Although Paris is thought to be a city for romantic getaways with a partner, do not let this put you off if you’re single. It really is a must see for everyone and I had so much fun visiting with the girls for a weekend. A few of us have already been before so we didn’t cover every touristy area. However still took advantage of the whole Parisian culture including croissants for breakfast, macaroons for lunch and French champagne in the evenings. (Of course). Continue reading
I love getting comments from people about my blog. They tell me how they get lost in my writing, making them feel like they want to explore and that’s why I do it. But I wanted to write something more personal this week, to help connect with my readers and hopefully help others through a difficult time or break up. And since it’s International Women’s Day, I thought it would be a good idea to talk about it.
Anyone that knows me well understands my love for travel, cocktails and chocolate. That’s why my first blogging event in York went down a treat.
It’s getting to the end of January.. I feel fat, unmotivated and to top it all off I’m too poor to treat myself to make things better.
Now we all know a trip to New York would be nothing without a little bit of shopping… and first on the agenda was Sephora since we don’t have it in the UK.
